This was a one off gig with SPK and the N-Lets at the Italian centre "Garibaldi's" at the bottom of Riley Street Darlinghurst on 21/04/1979. I assume this was set up by Ken West as it was mixed and recorded by him (he also recorded SPK on this night) and he was our sort of manager for a while. Garibaldi's became quite the punk/post-punk venue for a while until the toilets were broken one too many times.

The gig was played with enthusiasm and camaraderie but there are quite a few mistakes and Rod had big issues with the guitar staying in tune. Later this month he realized most of these were caused by him bending the guitar neck! I've left all of these [Tune Up] sections in so you can get a feel for the energy stripping effect they had on the gig as a whole. However, the response was quite positive throughout.

Interestingly there are a couple of tracks which don't seem to appear on any other live or studio recordings: 'Insults' was a riff based track that never really gets itself off the ground and 'Uwe' and 'F6' are 2 more of the noise/improv things we loved to taunt the audience with.
